Thermal Recycling has been nominated in the category ‘Engineering Innovator of the Year’ of the annual Innovation Awards organised by the Technology Supply Chain, a Community interest Company supporting manufacturing, engineering, and technology companies in the West Midlands.
The annual Innovation Awards are designed to promote, recognise, celebrate, and reward leading individuals and businesses for their ability to innovate. The need and ability to innovate is widely recognised as a key contributor to business success and some companies have avoided a downturn and worse by innovating, and others have developed new products or internal processes. The Engineering Innovator of the Year award recognises the engineering company that has shown the most innovation.
Wolverhampton-based Thermal Recycling opened its demonstration plant in September 2020 to provide a socially and environmentally responsible alternative to asbestos disposal. The company diverts asbestos away from landfill, converts it into a new material that does not contain asbestos, and produces a sustainable aggregate.
