Thermal Recycling Talk Impresses at European Asbestos Forum Conference
Thermal Recycling Chairman Graham Gould was delighted to speak to asbestos industry professionals at the prestigious European Asbestos Forum Conference on Friday 15th November 2019 at the Van der Valk Hotel Oostzaan in Amsterdam.
The European Asbestos Forum conference saw professionals from all over the world come together to share their knowledge through a series of talks and round table workshops. This year’s theme ‘Asbestos & Innovation’ put the focus squarely on new scientific insights and technological developments around asbestos and its disposal.
Thermal Recycling will be the first business in the world to introduce a commercially viable, scalable and safe way of treating asbestos. Graham’s talk entitled ‘Denaturing Asbestos – The Challenges of Innovation’ focused on the many hurdles that need to be overcome to move away from burying asbestos in a hole in the ground to eradicating it through denaturing.
Graham was delighted with the reception to his talk:
“I was honoured to be asked to speak at the European Asbestos Forum Conference. I wanted to use my talk to share our experience of what it takes to actually bring new business to the market. We are now in the final stages before launching the business and hopefully others can benefit from our experience.”
Alongside Graham’s talk, President of the International Commission on Occupational Health, Dr Jukka Takala, explored the impact of asbestos on society in his keynote speech, alongside a screening of the award-winning documentary ‘Breathless’. All of which served to highlight how urgent and essential it is that we continue to discuss, debate, and raise awareness around asbestos and its disposal.
