All Systems are Go! Installing the Thermal Recycling Kiln

Ten years ago, we first proved that it was possible to completely denature asbestos using thermal technology. Fast forward to the present day and we are finally on the road to sharing our innovation with the wider world.

We are delighted to be taking another huge step towards opening our demonstration plant this Autumn. Having completed the construction of our asbestos treatment kiln, we are now in the process of transporting and installing the kiln to our premises in Wolverhampton.

This is a very exciting time for everyone involved with the project as it has taken many years and a lot of hard work and dedication to reach this point. As mentioned previously, it will still take more time to finish the installation and to commission the kiln, but the first firing is getting closer!

Together we can put an end to the asbestos problem

Until now, contractors, landlords and property managers across the UK have had no choice but to dispose of asbestos in designated landfill sites. In fact, in England and Wales alone at least 250,000 tonnes of asbestos containing material is taken to landfill each year. This process brings with it many risks and does not resolve the asbestos problem, it merely hides it underground for future generations to deal with. After many years of research and development however, we are proud to be able to offer what we believe is the world’s first viable asbestos treatment plant.

Employing the same technology which fires the turbine blades in jet engines, our new treatment system offers precision and accuracy as the firing cycle completely denatures the asbestos. Temperatures are constantly measured and recorded allowing us to ensure that all traces of asbestos have been eradicated.

Safe, reliable and cost-effective, we are delighted to finally offer a new sustainable solution for disposing of asbestos.

In addition to completely denaturing the harmful waste, the treated material can be used within the construction industry as an aggregate. We have spent the last ten years perfecting our process and we strongly believe that we will very soon be able to offer a better solution to the ongoing asbestos problem in the UK – all at no greater cost than taking the waste to landfill.
